In My Local Newspaper & A Contest Giveaway

I have two exciting things to share.

The first piece of news:
I am so proud and pleased to be a part of a great team who has helped me get a local cancer support group started on the Sunshine Coast. The support group, now known as The Ruby Slipper Cancer Support Group is funded by a local non-profit organization called The Ruby Slipper Fund.

An editorial piece on how the group came to be is featured in this week's Coast Reporter newspaper. You can check out the full story here.

And much to my surprise – I somehow managed to even sneak on to the front page! Was not expecting to be the teaser photo – (hehe thanks Miss Heather!)

Hoping we have a great turn out for our February 16th information session which will be held in Sechelt at the Community Resource Centre.

For those on the Coast... more info about the cancer support group is located on the Ruby Slipper Cancer Support Group Facebook page. Check it out! And "like" us pretty pretty please!

The second bit of excitement:
I have a fun contest to hold! This is my first time doing a giveaway on this blog. The prize: a 10-Day Making Space Cleanse which is put on by the inspirational Hannah Marcotti.

Back in September I was privileged to get a spot (plus one more) in this cleanse when I won a giveaway on Andrea Scher's Superhero Life blog. I'll be doing this cleanse myself in February... (during the next new moon phase - the best time to start making space!)

This is not a cleanse where you have to eliminate any foods or follow a diet plan. This is about creating space in your life, opening up, expanding. The great part about it is that you can start anytime because it is self paced and there is no class start date. For more information about the 10-Day Making Space Cleanse click here.

Contest rules: Anyone can enter a chance to win this giveaway by leaving a comment below. So if you leave a comment (WITH YOUR NAME!) you are automatically put into the draw and your name will go in the hat. The winner will be chosen and announced on February 4, 2013. So stay tuned contest enterers!

Have a super awesome splendid weekend everyone!

  4. Rock on!

I am slowly getting my home in order (I moved in late October). It's coming together, but there are areas that totally overwhelm me. Making Space sounds like just the sort of thing I need.

  7. Awesome that you got your picture on the front page!

The cleanse sounds interesting. I might just pay for it if I don't luck out and get picked for your free friend pass.

By the way, thanks for the hair style. I'm loving it!
